The Montreal Protocol was based on the false science that a variation in atmospheric ozone was due to human-produced CFCs. We were told destruction of ozone would continue for 100 years. That and the hypothesis were wrong. Now children suffer from the understandable public reaction to the fears the false science created. Some of the damage of the false CO2 science is already evident.

Popeye perceptively said, “I don’t know houz youz duz it, but youz duz it.” Now, over 5000 more leaked emails from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU), labeled Climategate 2, provide clarity. They add flesh to the skeleton of corrupted climate science identified in 1000 leaked emails of Climategate 1. They show why and how it […]

How many times can official science be wrong before governments stop acting on the claim that human CO2 is causing climate change? The latest example is the claim that atmospheric CO2 levels are higher and show the largest one year increase on record. “The world pumped about 564 million more tons (512 million metric tons) […]

A Cultural Dictionary says the comment that, “He can’t see the forest for the trees” is, “an expression used of someone who is too involved in the details of the problem to look at the situation as a whole.” There are many applications in today’s society overwhelmed by information. Most is misinformation, out of context, […]

Recently a Japanese Research Institute published a satellite map of sources of CO2 emissions. It was virtually ignored by the mainstream media, but that has become an inverse measure of its significance to the climate debate. It showed a pattern that most would not expect because of the misleading information presented by the Intergovernmental Panel […]

Anyone who knows anything about global climate knows the Earth has generally warmed since the 1680s. Politics has made that period, which covers the Industrial Revolution, of climatic interest as people wanted to prove that human production of CO2 was causing warming. The problem, ignored by proponents, is that it has warmed naturally since the […]

In 1991 I made a presentation to the Canadian Water Resources Association (CWRA). Apparently members requested a copy be placed in their journal. As I recall the editor was not enamoured of the idea and requested permission to assign the title. I was not happy with the idea but decided the content was more important. […]

There are frequent stories of impending doom. If it isn’t new it’s a recycled one, which works because few understood the original story was false. This allows exploiters to take normal events and present them as abnormal. A recent Canadian story identifies a hole in the Arctic ozone. How can this be? Wasn’t the problem […]

A simple but powerful definition of science is the ability to predict. If your predictions are wrong there is clearly something wrong with your science. The failure, or at best imprecision of weather forecasts, indicate it is not a science. Supporters of “official” climate science, produced by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), tried […]

Note: This is the original of the article that appeared as an abbreviated op-ed in the National Post. H.L.Mencken said, “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” Today, academics, […]
