The following article first appeared on The Rebel website. Derek Bok said if you think education is expensive try ignorance. A rarely considered or measured cost is exploitation of ignorance. Confidence tricksters use people’s limitations to take advantage. Global warming is just another example, albeit the largest in history, because the entire world was fooled. […]

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper proudly announced discovery of one of Captain John Franklin’s ships, either the Erebus or Terror. Identification, of which ship will be relatively easy, based on the known dimensions of the vessels (Figure 1). “It occurred to me…” The tail always wagged the dog: Now, because of political correctness, the flea on the hair on the tail wags the dog.  Elaine Dewar spent several days with Maurice Strong at the UN and concluded in her book that, “Strong was using the U.N. as a platform to sell a global […]

software cheap It’s interesting how many proverbs and sayings apply to Barack Obama’s strategies. It confirms the biblical proverb, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” Fortunately, the US Founding Fathers were familiar with biblical and secular proverbs. They distilled collective […]

Politicians battled over social issues and allowed the economy to spiral out of control while a series of events were pushing food prices higher and higher. It affects everyone, but hurts middle- and lower-income the most. Historically, it’s the issue that brought governments to their knees.

In his keynote speech, Vaclav Klaus, elected President of the Czech Republic in 2003, commented at the first Heartland Conference on Climate Change in New York that the Czech Republic had just emerged from 70 years of communism and asked, incredulously, why anyone would go back. He was referring to the US and Europe, and identified environmentalism and climate change as the vehicles for the transit.

The surface of the Earth is similar as the interface between the atmosphere and the underlying surfaces. Accurate measurement and understanding of processes are critical to what is happening in the atmosphere, underground and in the oceans. Unless we understand the dynamics across the interface, we will not know what is going on above and below the surface. Surface stations aren't measuring what is necessary for understanding changes in weather and climate. But none of this is important to the IPCC, who only wants the results to support the political conclusion.

All the scares generated by the false climate science promoted by political agendas disappear from the mainstream media and are rarely heard of again. The sequence begins with identification of an issue. This occurs in several ways, including reporters scanning science journals for articles to sensationalize, or a scientist or environmental group publicizing an issue. If the story catches, they’ll push it from various angles. If it loses traction, they bring in a different scientific angle or raise the level of potential damage.

Vladimir Köppen (with Rudolf Geiger) and Charles Thornwaite each developed incredibly useful climate classification systems. These systems, which are rooted in measurements of precipitation effectiveness and vegetation, are still widely used today and contradict "official" IPCC climate science, which perverts science to support a political agenda.

Immanuel Velikovsky, the author of Worlds In Collision, challenged prevailing scientific views. In some ways, it doesn’t matter whether Velikovsky was right or wrong. The problem was the reprehensible actions of the scientific community. His treatment holds many lessons for today’s debate over climate change.
